Can oneone out there give me some pointers on how to set up (ecrypted) directory authentication for a "Members Area"? I'm running a Win2k Advanced Server. I'm not sure it Microsoft offers the best security and would like to know if there's another product that does it better. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Megladon :zoinks:

What would you suggest instead of using Win2k Server? I was also considering running an Apache Web Server, but I haven't touched Linux in a while. Thanks for the tips.

FreeBSD, not Linux, and Apache . . . this will serve you well, no pun intended :awinky:

Just start you list by crossing off windows / microsoft products - they are the victims of and the source of most web related viruses and security issues - plus (as discussed here in the past) they don't scale well in the adult world.

Security means "minimum exposure required", and windows ain't a minimum solution.

Thanks for the advice. I haven't used FreeBSD at all. Is it pretty easy to learn?
