Sean Connery as a star and it looks VERY interesting though I'm not sure if this is an original project or this is based on yet another comic book franchise. Anybody know whether it's original or not?

TE - The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is based on a VERY cool comic book series written by Alan Moore, the gent who wrote From Hell which was made into a movie with Johnny Depp.

If you like good adventure stories you should definately check out the comic. It is available in a collected Graphic Novel at many books stores and most self-respecting comic shops.

The story centers around a secret group that is backed by the British Government and is made up of characters from literary history. Alan Quartermain (the dude who found King Solomon's mines), Mina Murray (Jonathan Harker's bride from Dracula), Captain Nemo (an Indian Prince who really doesn't like Brits that much), Dr. Jeckyl and his nasty Alter-ego, and the Invisible Man (who is a rather devious chap). Their group is overseen by a Mr. Bond who works for the Queen. There are tons of other characters and situations from other books that have found there way into the stories. Everyone from Sherlock Holmes, Fu Manchu, Alice from Wonderland, Gulliver, John Carter- Warlord of Mars, H.G. Welles War of the Worlds, and literally a shitload more.

I could go on and on about the story but instead you should just check it out for yourself. You won't be dissapointed! Here is a link to the official site for the Comic Book: http://www.wildstorm.com/minisites/loeg/loeg.html

If they movie is even half as fun as the comic then it should be pretty good!

Any fan of monster/adventure/horror flicks should love this movie when it comes out. http://www.vanhelsing.net

Stars Hugh Jackman (Wolverine from the X-men movies) as Van Helsing the Monster Hunter (same character played by Anthony Hopkins in Francis Ford Coppola's version of Dracula). The movie is directed by Stephan Sommers who did the 2 Mummy movies recently. Should be a kick ass flick with the budget they are giving it!

Cool. Thanks for the info Zebra. The trailer for the movie is quite good and Sean Connery has an ability to pick out quality movies. That combines for a must see flick. :>))
