the North Korean message is always the same:

the North Koreans by the way, are doing an excellent job at putting pressure on the Bush administration and getting everything they want. They are totally getting away with pulling out of two treaties and resuming a nuclear weapons program unchallenged. its getting increasingly humorous to see the administration try to downplay the North Korea situation.

reporter: "why all the urgency in Iraq... wouldn't you say that the North Korean situation is a real crisis, whereas Saddam Hussien is more or less contained"

General: <laughs nervously> "huh!? oh...oh... you mean the "Americans will all die in a sea of fire" guys?

I just spoke with a friend of mine who served in the military with me, who is of Korean descent.

His words exactly are:
N Korea is the next Saddam. They too want a unified Korea, under Communist rule. If the US backs out, the 3rd larges Army in the world is going to pound South Korea, with the capital only 25 miles south of the DMZ.

Too true....but those posters ARE a little scary Serge. *shudder*

I know that in this country we think everyone loves us and respects us when actually at least a third of the world (probably more - I am American and have no clue) hates us and wants to see our whole country blow up. But...seeing those posters - comparing them to the nazi propaganda posters - it just really makes it "hit home" of just how MUCH they all hate us.

However...I wish we'd just pick a war, stick with it and get it overwith before moving on to the next. We have too many wackos standing in line asking for a good ass-kicking.

I said this in another thread, but what my friend in Korea has been telling me is that he's damned sure he's going in soon. The North Koreans are big, big trouble.
