I'm officially serving my soon to be ex husband with papers and should be divorced in 6 months.
We have been apart for a while, this will make it official, though we will both of course still share interests our the child, all other ties will be severed, but it's on good terms.
Just thought I'd throw that in there! LOL Tada! Seemed to go with the parting ways stuff, and just started to happen! lol
Can i get a woo wooooo!

I've been thinking about that, what is the proper etiquette? Party when the papers are served, when they are signed, when it's official, or just all 3?
LOL Like I need an excuse!
Let's hope it's uncontested!

Shann,
Lisa is our resident divorce guru! Ask her
;-)))
Men rarely have divorce parties,
they just don't have enough money left after the procedure
;-)
correct serge!! women are the ones who celebrate divorce ... many strip shows i've been to have had equal hens to divorcee's :D
shann the party games for divorce parties will help you to get rid of any old photos or memoribilia he left behind ;-)))
Hmm, I'm not sure 2 divorces qualifies me as a guru. Compared so some of the people hanging around here i'm a mere novice. :awinky:

Lisa,
1) you had one of the most celebrated divorces on the net in our community
;-)
2) women with more than 2 divorces-
step up and claim your "Guruness"
;-)))

Congrats Shan!
My divorce has been filed, and discussions are moving forward.
I've got lawyers coming out of my ass, but I am certain things will work out amicably. We've been on a crazy roller coaster for several years, and I am very excited to close this chapter in my life.
I am planning on throwing my divorce party after the divorce is final.
My 30th birthday is tomorrow and everyone wants to throw a big party...I told them to hold out for the divorce party...I'm going all out for that one...

i honestly wish you much happiness in the future. It is a big step but sometimes you need to take the big step so you know in your mind where you stand and things can start to get better from there.

Shann, I refuse to grant you a divorce...
But if I must... One of my conditions is that I get ALL the Gordon Lightfoot records.

Unless of course, the women made FAR more money than the exes, ask me and a certain unnamed woman who recently parted ways with both a company and a husband.
Shann, good luck to you, I hope that it goes fairly for you and that you don't have too much trouble with it.
I didn't have a divorce party, but most I've been to were thrown the day the divorce was final.

Or like me, where my ex was a Jr and conveniently the company that he owned ended up "on paper" (read: in court) owned by his father and my Ex making a $24K a year salary. It wasn't at all suspicious to the judge that $100K+ had gone through our personal checking account with me as a housewife and my ex making $24K a year
Shann - after knowing you for a year, I'm guessing this isn't exactly a sad divorce :awinky: , so I'll say "Congratulations!" :gbounce:

I'd stay married to you Evil Chris! lol Gordon Lightfoot and all! lol
Actually, this is one of those cases where I'll be the one paying support, lucky me!
This isn't really sad, more like official so no woe as me over here, except from my bank account! So take that smarty pants GregP! lol Women can make more than their husbands, maybe you should be so lucky! lol
Lisa, expect to hear from me on icq oh wise one!
