Sharky,
I spoke to my Dad throughout the game. He became a Bucs fan in 1977 and I in 1979. Last year, he had open heart surgery. As they were wheeling him away and I was trying to hold back the tears he said to the doctor "I have to live long enough to see the Bucs go to a Super Bowl". Who would have thought it would be one year later?
As a child, when the Bucs were pathetic every year, I asked my dad if the Bucs would ever go to a Super Bowl and he joked "in the 2000s. Hope I live that long"
So when I talked to him a few minutes after the Barber INT returned for a TD he was still jumping up and down screaming and yelling and he said tears were streaming down his face - I couldn't help but think of all the memories - mostly bad - over the years.
Saw on the news 25,000+ fans showed up last night at the stadium. If I still lived in Sarasota I would have made the drive. Too far from here for that drive.
Long live Doug Williams, Jimmy Giles, Kevin House, David Logan, Ricky Bell, Jerry Eckwood, Hugh Green, Dewey Selmon, and coach McKay!
