I posted this over at Netpond (yes Serge and Mike, I got you email threatening...err I mean inviting me to go check them out..lol...Been a while since I had looked in there, so I went aheadand registered etc) anyway, thought I might gather some opinions over here too :)
We are working on setting up an affiliate program for our mainstream site: Paper Jewels
Because of my various ties in the adult community, I am hoping to get adult sites to either advertise the site or at least pass the warning page exit traffic to us...
We plan to track the program via 2 or 3 different levels:
1. we will be placing a permanent cookie iding the affiliate.
2. we will be offering customers the chance to register and save a % discount off their purchase (currently picturing 10%), the user registration will be tagged to the affiliate code.
3. we will also be matching the buyer info against past history.
The purpose will be to ensure the most accurate tracking back to the original affiliate etc.
We are thinking of a tiered payout structure:
On any single sale:
1. 10% of any sale less than $100
2. 15% of any sale between $100 and $200
3. 20% of any sale $200 and above
On monthly sales:
1. 10% of any monthly cumulative sales less than $100
2. 15% of any monthly cumulative sales between $100 and $200
3. 20% of any monthly cumulative sales $200 and above
These numbers would apply fo initial sales or additional sales.
If there is an affiliate cross (different affiliate is now sending customer) I picture a split payment of some sort among the affiliates.
I would be tracking the sales using my own software on the main site. This is because we offer multiple payment options, this way I do not have to set up programs with all processors etc and merge the info. It would also allow affiliates to get credit for orders that are paid by snailmail check or moneyorder.
So my question is Would you be interested in a program like this and what else would you like to see that might induce you to participate?
Thanks in advance
