with S&P going down 22% this year, it was one of the worst years in stock market since 1973....

I am down 3.21% this year

thanks God for:
Bonds,
hedge funds and... Oprano

I am eternal optimist,
it's bad but can't be any worse

Slav, is it overall portfolio?

I tell you how I measure:
I ONLY measure absolut values, 'cuz ONLY they matter.

Everything is thrown in one pile,
earnings, paper losses, taxes, living expences, etc,
and all I know that the year 2002 costed me 3 points
;-(((

how did you fare in OVERALL department?

I am down 10% on my stocks - only because I have a couple of big winners. I bought into a company that makes equipment for airport security. Wish i had bought more..... because my America West I bought 3 years ago sure sucks.

Now on my Mutual funds I am up 2 1/2% and feel very fortunate, as retirement is not that far away for me.

"Thank god for bonds!!!!! " - ditto

Of course, my best investments are Real Estate.......

I sur have enjoyed investing in sunshine :P
