Dear CJ:

I saw this on a Tshirt recently:

Four Stages of Life:

1. Believes in Santa
2. Doesn't believe in Santa
3. IS Santa Claus
4. Looks like Santa

The last chruch I stepped into was a wedding and it was a huge Catholic. I swore it wanted to fall down on me. Then again the Catholic's and Christians always did win by intimidation.

Serge you dress as you'd dress for dinner and wear a jacket. South Florida is always more casual then most places.

I used to go to Christmas eve mass years ago. It's nice actually to see the kids doing their Christmas play and waving to their parents in the audience.
I haven't gone in about 6 years though...

One of the most beautiful ceremonies I've ever seen was a Christmas Eve midnight Mass when I was a kid. It was what they called a High Mass, all done in Latin. Not being Catholic, I didn't have a clue what the hell was going on, but it was impressive.

Christmas services are always nice - I suspect it is also the most crowded... I remember that church was always packed during Christmas and Easter.

JFK you are right about good memories....

Evil Chris, I was type casted at a young age - I was always forced to be a damn shepard for Christmas play!!

I was doing the same thing across the border in Romania, despite the communists banning religion, people made a huge ritual out of Easter and Xmas. I remember this huge cathedral with lots of candles and hundreds of people going to and from the shrines packed with more candles. Very magical moment.

Err I used to go to church every frickin day.

Now when I go near a church the wind picks up, lightning ,thunder and other unpleasantness.Funny that...

Business suit if high church.Must say midnight mass used to get us in the mood for Xmass.A bunch of us would stagger there at closing time from the pub.The singing was more reminsant of a soccer crowd , than a choir. ;)

cj,
Its snowing up here :) Just a nice dusting :) Looks really pretty.

bah humbug..... ;)

Down here in Naples, they had a Christmas Service on the beach at Lowdermilk park. People parked at the mall and were bussed in for the service. Luckily one of the few really nice evenings this Xmas season. 1,500 people attended. Really neat concept. Beats the 6 inches of snow in Indiana... :zoinks:
