I'm all about this ...

"President Bush has decided to deploy a limited system designed to protect the United States against a ballistic missile attack, with the first phase of the controversial system scheduled to be deployed within two years, senior administration officials tell CNN."

China has been critical of any deployment of U.S. warships in Asia with missile-defense capabilities.

How do you say "eat shit and bark at the moon" in Chinese?

As long as programs like these don't come at the expense of conventional forces, I think it's great. Got mixed feelings about expanding it to space, however, but that's not come up for discussion yet.

Glad we are on the same page on something!!

I think this is a great program, one we should have been developing and deploying years ago!

Mikey, I spent 10 years in the Navy, bud ... I'm for anything that makes us safer. I am always suspicious about programs like this, because they tend to be pork-laden, bug-ridden, result in cutbacks or slowdowns in more conventional programs, and they tend to take money out of the pockets of the people in uniform. I don't think we should deploy it in space unless we go back to Reagan's offer to provide the data to others. No way in hell do I think we ought to give it to Tiawan, regardless of the long-$tanding love affair between the powers that be in this country and one of the major political parties in this one.
