Company who's humble beginnings were in the great country of American and made their fortune here turns traitor

Fuck 'em - I hope this comes back to bite their ass and they have to close more stores and their stock prices plummet
Would love to see another chain do a smear campaign

I'll never patronize another fucking McDonalds

I read that article too Vick in the magazine....

Amazing... instead of being a reprentative of what this Country is about - mainly FREEDOM - McDonalds Corp only is concerned about $$$.

I have 3 words for Mickey D's

Mad Cow Disease!

This reminds me of when I was walking near ground zero a couple of weeks
after 9/11 . I saw this kid with a 'Ground Zero' baseball cap. My first feeling was "holy shit you moron, thousands of people were killed just a couple of weeks ago, this is not disneyland"

But my second thought, was hey..."arab terrorists hate our way of life; come here and blow up a major landmark and kill thousands of people, and we are so adaptable, we turn it into a merchandising oppurtunity. :D

Whatever you throw at us, we will find a way to make money from it. We take that money and build the most sophisticated araments known to man and smite our enemies. Sounds good to me.

go MacDonald's! :rokk:

Surely you cannot be silly enough to believe that a multinational corporation is "American"? Pu-leaze. During WWII a number of "American" companies aided and abetted the German war effort, particularly in occupied countries. Truman/Atcheson/somebody quashed a project investigating such activities in 45 or 46 that would have named a number of the largest American banks as outright colaborators in France ... and not passive, tacit collaborators either. In the days of the global economy, anyone who is suprised by this kind of thing is terribly niave. Ronald McDonald and his regional equivialents exist for one purpose - to make $. Anything less would be contrary to the nature of the beast.

PD - buddy - you are ok with someone pissing on the country you willingly served and could have died for?

I understand global companies and their need to market according to geographic location but I don't agree with anti-amercian and outright hate expressions

" McDonald's France refuses to import American beef "to guarantee maximum hygienic conditions." "

"Franchise repositions McDonald's as a symbol of anti-NATO protest. "

"Local outlets introduce the McFalafel, rolled out behind an ad jingle sung by Shabaan Abdel Rahim, best known for his chart-topping hit "I Hate Israel." "

"30 cents from every Big Mac sold to the Red Crescent Society and Nasser Hospital in Gaza for treatment of Palestinian casualties. "

Shows no integrity -

*edit - Actually you are a global enitity PD and you don't redirect traffic from France to a page that says
"Aucun Puer Américain filles sur ceci website"

I reiterate - Fuck McDonalds

I didn't say I didn't have a problem with it ... I said it didn't suprise me. I mean, really ... integrity? What an old-fashioned and outdated concept. The only loyalty most of these people have is to the bottom line of the multinational they serve. Enron and WorldCom are examples of the degree of "integrity" in business today, IMHO.

In spite of Torone's delusions, I'm a die-hard capitalist ... but I know the beast I favor. Its for just these reasons that I favor regulation of business at a level that makes some folks scream, and the reason I consider such theories as "the invisible hand" as dangerous fantasy fully the equal of communism or socialism.

I realize it's fashionable to bash France, but I'm not so sure that McDonald's France refuses to import American beef "to guarantee maximum hygienic conditions qualifies as hate speech anyway.
