Here we go again... homeland security needs it's own set of snoops... so the FBI, the CIA, and all those other agencies apparently don't do the job.

Can you say "More Government"?

Let me quote the important parts:

"The Advisory Panel to Assess Domestic Response Capabilities for Terrorism Involving Weapons of Mass Destruction, known as the Gilmore Commission, will issue its fourth report Monday, and officials will discuss details at a news conference."

"Gilmore is recommending that any such agency operate within strict civil liberties guidelines."

As long as all this is to prevent violence and chaos I'm for it, but I seem to recall an incident with one of the last pieces of legislation, where there was a paragraph found that no one could or would take credit for and this somehow protected Eli Lily the pharmaceutical company. This was just a cut and paste operation into the legal document ready to be signed.

Did anyone else read about this?

Ironhorse, I think it revolting to find out that all the US agencies currently eating up billions of dollars apparently are not able to handle any of this. The creation of ANOTHER agency, to go along with the homeland security office, will just further murky the waters of responsiblity and end up costing a bunch more money...

Is anyone else that Bush sr pardoned looking for work?

Well, Vick, I suppose we could argue over whether selling pardons is more honorable than pardoning those who know where the bodies are buried ... but it was a damn good line, so I'll let that one slide. :D

Vick, that is EXACTLY what Canadian is... America with less guns and more tolerance for other people... :D

Colin, they couldn't afford an agency just for me, it would cost way to much to try to figure out what the hell I am up to... heck, I don't know some of the time!

Could it be the vast amounts of American $$$ it takes to keep the Socialist Canadian economy from bottoming out? I hear they have asked theUS for help to bail out their Socialized medicine system; because it is going to be billions in the *red* (excuse the pun) next year. :nyanya:

Alex,
You have never answered the question..."What's your stake in American politics?".
