View Full Version : Unique Site For Webmasters

While surfing around for new ideas yesterday I found...

http://www.contentlotto.com (http://www.contentlotto.com/index.php?account=turner)

Looks like a unique idea to get webmasters attention and get them coming back to a particular site. You can win content, traffic, hosting, design, etc. from playing lottery type games daily... From what I've seen so far, I like it and it's probably pretty good at getting webmasters (especially newbies) to return and click on ads. I haven't won anything yet though :(

What does everyone else think?

(No, I'm not promoting it, I just thought it was unique... but I do have my referrer code in the link :) )

Ahhh yes Colin.... should have known.

I remember thinking the idea of webmasters and gambling went hand in hand.... thought it was a sure fire winner!!

Most people love to win things and they will sit there for hours I bet... especially newbie webmasters looking to win content or traffic...

Porn Lotto actually did fairly well. With porn lotto, you sent visitors and received one ticket for every visitor sent. A lottery drawing was selected and the winner received 90% of the visitors the next day. I think it would have probably continued to grow. At the time, it was just too small of a percentage of company income and we ditched it to concentrate on our main business at the time - which was search engine traffic. It ended up being more of a novelty for us than anything else.

We also invented gambling games where webmasters sent in visitors and received one credit for each visitor sent. You could then gamble your visitors in blackjack and other games with typical house rules. Robin introduced a similar product at the exact same time (The gambling games, not the lotto). We had independently hit upon the idea.

Same thing happened to this idea. We developed these sites when we were just starting but then the SE stuff took off and we ditched it. Either of these ideas would be good for a rogue programmer/graphics person to do for additional income.

Over on VNWR, usually about 300 or so posts are generated during bingo times.... Game can take anywhere from a half hour to overnight... and many newbies and oldbies join in... Lots of great information is passed and fun and enlightening discussions take place.

Anyone and everyone from the adult webmaster community is always invited to participate... The prizes are not as extravagant as the Pickem prizes, but a free set of content or a couple of months worth of hosting is always worth playing for....

Most of the information is geared towards Free Site builders and TGP builders but there is also always good tech info on scripts and htaccess that almost anyone can take advantage of.....

On contentlotto... that has been out there for a while now.... Good concept and you play various different games for a wide range of prizes... They also have a good newsletter that comes out about once a week with their new games, etc... I personally like it and participate once a week or so....

Just to add on about VNWR (they taught me everything I know..lol) there is a bingo game tomorrow night I believe (usually at 7:30 board time est. this time of year, Voltar is in Indiana so the times change twice a year since they don't do regular daylight savings time) and then there is going to be a break from Bingo until after Internext in January...

So, if anyone wants to see what the adult webmaster's of tomorrow are up to, please feel free to drop by and join in the game... (we're eventually gonna rule the net, so you might as well come meet us now...lololol...j/k)

VNWR Rocks !

Content Lotto is a pretty clever site, programming is cool on it. Only thing i wonder about is what kind of webmaster is going to sit and play scratch games to win some small content prize? I went once, played for a few minutes and that was my last visit. The ad system is cool, the advertisers entire front page loads in a frame while the webmasters play each game.

baddog was trying to sell me advertising on it and he showed me some stats, pretty good - except they were impressions, not clickthroughs.

For a content provider it's a good place to advertise, you barter prizes for ad impressions.

Hey Guys

I used to play the content lotto site for a little while, and I won 3-4 times, I don't have the time anymore :( But, I have referred plenty of webmasters and everytime they win, I get a prize too! So even if you can't play yourself but can refer webmasters, it's well worth signing up and getting some referrals under you :D

Merry Christmas from the Sexhit Team!
