Do you think it is true? If not who do you think should be there?

Oh no, no , no
:woo: Nirvina along with whiny Pearl Jam killed Rock N Roll and ushered in the awful alterarock (With the notable exception of Jane's Addiction)

Best single should be something cool or insightful with a great raw guitar sound that stands up to the test of time - something that really represents what Rock - N - Roll is about - raw sexuality, rebelling against whatever and fun

Best Single- Chuck Berry - Roll Over Beethoven

For best RnR song lyrics - Don McLean - American Pie

Best RnR band - Aerosmith

Berry ... check. Areosmith ... wouldn't come close to being my pick, but okay ... I can see why. But Don McLean???? DON FUCKING MCLEAN???? <PornoDoggy sprinkles unholy water on himself and rushes "Live At Leeds" into the CD to avoid being smacked dead by the Rock 'n Roll gods.>

Single - Born to Run, Bruce Springsteen
Lyrics - Like a Rolling Stone, Bob Dylan
Band - The Rolling Stones

What's the matter with the crowd I'm seeing?
"Don't you know that their out of touch?"
Should I try to be a straight 'A' student?
"If you are then you think too much
Don't you know about the new fashion honey?
All you need are looks and a whole lotta money"
It's the next phase, new wave , dance craze, anyways
It's still rock and roll to me
Everybody's talkin' 'bout the new sound
Funny, but it's still rock and roll to me

The symbolism behind the lyrics of American Pie is incredible
McClean breaks out how Rock N Rock was (and is meant to be) and how it dies for him and an entire generation in the song along with the causes and effects
Just absolutely amazing lyrical work

Born to Run is Jersey Shore tramps story and Springsteen's best work IMNSHO was on his first album "Greetings from Asbury Park"

Kerrang is a metal magazine, Nirvana doesn't seem relevant. Their stuff was good and all but... ah, I dunno..

I might have thought Ac/Dc Shook me all night long or something.. Couldn't NOT hear that song for years... It was everywhere.

Question added in edit: Anyone like the band Biohazard here?

Well Kerrang was born a metal magazine...now they just go for anything that is 'loud'. In the UK it is *all* boy b(l)ands and junk like that so anything where people acutally play and doesn't have a dance routine is considered alternative.

Can't believe I forgot the greatest song of all time .......

"A lap dance is so much better when the stripper is crying" - The Bloodhound Gang

So, Bambi's goin' on about how she can make all my fantasies come true.
So I says, "Even this one I have where Jesus Christ
is jackhammering Mickey Mouse in the doo-doo hole
with a lawn dart as Garth Brooks gives birth to something
resembling a cheddar cheese log with almonds on Santa Claus's tummy-tum?"
Well, ten beers, twenty minutes and thirty dollars later
I'm parkin' the beef bus in tuna town if you know what I mean.
Got to nail her back at her trailer.
Heh. That rhymes.
I have to admit it was even more of a turn-on
when I found out she was doin' me to buy baby formula.

Yes, a lap dance is so much better when the stripper is cryin'
Yes, a lap dance is so much better when the stripper is cryin'
Well I find it's quite a thrill
When she grinds me against her will
Yes, a lap dance is so much better when the stripper is cryin'
