Seems somebody broke in and stole two Van Gogh paintings at a museum. From the description of what they used for the theft it all seemed rather easy. Ladder, rope, and a blanket for tools.

What happened to the drills, laser redirection mirriors, and all that other stuff you see in the movies?

From the looks of the article it seems that the robbery was aburdly easy. That shocks me because I would think with treasures like that it would be nigh impossible to steal them.

This is the second big one in a week, The one before this, was an exhibition of Diamonds , "how to tell the real from the fakes " in a science museum. They got cleaned out , all the real stuff taken. I guess someone is going to have a great Xmas

No kidding!

I can't believe they didn't have jBond type security.

Its really not hard - the technology is there....why they didn't use it?

Who knows. Maybe it was as inside job?

Exactly Eric. I mean with stuff like that you would think they would spend a little dough on security.

Of course i can't imagine it's easy to just unload a painting of Van Gogh's after you've stolen it. I would assume there are quite a limited number of places one could go to actually sell it. Unless they have the patience of a saint to wait before unloading it, I assume they will be caught relatively quick.

It's usually sold before they steal it and the thieves are told what to take. There are a lot of people with more money than sense that relish having stolen artwork in their collection.

WARNING - CUIDADO - ATTENTION - ACHTUNG 12/07/2002

These Vincent van Gogh paintings have been stolen at the Van Gogh Museum of Amsterdam.
Roban dos pinturas de Van Gogh en Holanda.
Ces peintures de Vincent van Gogh ont été volées au Musée Van Gogh d'Amsterdam.
Zwei Van Goghs geklaut.

Then they have pictures of the paintings and descriptions.....and that's all...odd. I guess "webmaster@oneofmypornsitedomains.com" is someone that's likely to come across them.
