The Sopranos continue to suck. The shrink stuff, the dream stuff, and the sister stuff sucks. They are crutches for poor ideas from the writers!

Serge tell her don't worry I have seen at all the big time award shows they have given out lifetime awards.. you are kind of like Michael Jackson :bwave:

Yup, another episode that sucked...
And although the previews looked good, there is no way they can cram all that into two hours.
Ugh. Tony's sister needs to shoot herself and do us all a favor. Painful.

I for one don't see how we can get any real "season closure" in just 2 more episodes... unless the last one involves a sit-down of ALL Soprano family members and a wacked-out Christopher runs in with a bomb strapped to his chest and kills everyone, leaving Carmella, Med and AJ to go on... :huh:
And as far as T's sister - don't get me started - Janice has been the "chaos factor" in the show since she came on!

MikeAI - I like action as much as anyone and I get a little upset when there is little to no death / ass beatings - HOWEVER, the story behind the Sopranos is a mafia boss with a conscious or at least a bit of a mental problem. The dreams and shrink are all parts of it. I think last episode (as uneventful as it was) was good and starts to go a little deeper than senseless violence (which of course we do need as well, c'mon its a mafia show).

Conflict with the characters is what makes a good show :awinky:
I have to admit that I enjoyed last nights show. Tony saying he didn't need therapy, but having freaky dreams, Janice being VERY clever in getting what she wants, the Russian chick blowing Tony off, the building up of Raphie getting whacked (my opinion :D ), etc.
I still think it's a very well written show, even when no one gets their head chopped off :rokk:

Marc, I understand the whole concept that the sotry is about Tony, his family, and the stress of his life. One thing I do like is that Tony is being made to look like an asshole on many levels - which is good because for awhile Tony was becoming a hero of sorts. But now the writers have him doing crazy stuff, because he does have some major issues.
I am a fan, and I would be fine with things like this - but when we continue to see his sister and other aspects that do not tie in well it makes me wonder. Is the actress who plays Janice a producers girlfriend or something? :blink:

UGH! Again - the fact that you hate her shows how good an actress she is! That's what the writers/producers/directors etc. WANT YOU TO DO :agrin:
She's John (Quiz Show, most of Spike Lee's movies, Unstrung Heros) and Nicholas (NYPD Blue) Turturro's sister - and I think she's a great actress :rokk:
I'm with you there, Peaches - the Soprano's ensemble is a good group of good actors. Granted, some of them do the wiseguy shtick, but you really do see them all as their characters, not actors.

I am not saying she is not a good actress, I am saying that there is to much of that... it is BORING... and really has nothing to do with the plot, at least in my opinion.

I agree, she's accomplishing her acting goal by pissing us off. She's a good actress or at least playing this part well.
But let's face it, Baccola's wife only just died and Janice is all over him. And that stupid tatoo on her boob they have to show OVER and OVER and OVER...
I'm just glad they haven't worked a lot of Meadow crap into this last few episodes or I'd be really pissed off... The thought of any more time being spent on her or Janice turns my stomach.
hahaha Just needed to vent... I feel better now...

reading the reactions here have to ask
Is the Sopranos moving towards being a soap opera as opposed to being the story of an (fictional) American crime family?
Do you ever wonder why America embraces crime families in fiction?

I think death of Sopranos was first season success..
I think they then went on to become too politically correct and probably were planning for the syndication of the reruns eventually so they can be showed on TBS 10 years down the line, thus leaving out tons of good violence, sex and drugs!
All the good violence is gone, with the exception of the chopping up of Ralphie.. heck I still remember when Furio beat the crap out of the Asian woman at the massage parlor when she gave him lip.. Now we see none of that! it just gets implied!
I dont think I have seen Furio kill anyone since!

Pornoman I think you hit a very important point - reruns on regular TV. I did not think about that angle....
