How long would it take on average to drive from the East to the West coast, if you drive 8-10 hours a day, without driving 110mph.

Anybody done this?

Of course silly, we don't have an East coast and I am already on our West coast;)

Besides that, driving to every corner of our country will probably cost you one day tops

43 hours huh ... that's pretty long

Naughty,

"East coast of Netherlands" is American for Copenhagen.

How would you get your car there? Ferry?

Speaking of time differences, some ACH processor woke me up at 6:45.

@#$%@%@$#

:awinky:

I've had friends go from TX to MA in a little more than 24 hours, but it really depends on your route, the seasons, and how you drive. Winter across the plains states will slow you down considerably unless you're in a hummer.

Kopenhagen is 2 countries away, Germany is in between.
BUT I would assume people take indeed the ferry to get across. I think it will take an hour, maybe 2.

Hey Naughty...R u driving i n the states or Canada?

I drove out west from Sault Ste Marie.....just make sure you have a vehicle with a cd player or at least a tapedeck...when you are in the prairies the radio stations are a little different

it took me about three days of driving...a whole 24 hours just to get out of the northern part of ontario...then a two day run till calgary...vancouver is about one day off of there as well. excellent scenery, well not in the prairies but...

Looking to find my 1000 acres of (inexpensive) land I can plop my log cabin onto :bdance: I'd love to build exactly what I have now, but make the rooms - especially master bath and CLOSETS - a tad larger, hook up a satellite internet feed (by that time, it will have been perfected - I hope.... :awinky: ) and not have to worry about neighbors, traffic, smog, crime (except what I commit), etc. :rokk:

Colin decides he belongs to be lumped in with the 10% of US teens that can't recognize the US on a map!

Note to self. Rememorize map.

Well as far as travelling goes, the hubby and myself have made the drive from Toronto to Calgary (about 3500 kms) about eight times now. It takes us about two days or so depending on road conditions and how often we stop. He has made the drive in less than 24 hours, but he was a horny psychopath at the time. Last time we came across we did it with both kids (our daughter was a year old and our son was almost three at the time) and it took closer to four days, because of frequent stops etc. (we also had three cats in the car too..joy!) I would say from coast to coast it would be about 5-6 days if you were driving at max speed limit and the road conditions were ideal with a minimum of stops... possibly more. It's VERY tiring though, so you would probably want to give yourself an extra day just in case you need a bit more rest towards the end..because the last leg of the trip is always the most gruelling. :) It's definitely fun to see your country from the ground, up close and personal though. Make sure to take a camera :)

Did that. Drove from California to Florida in a class C RV via Chicago, Philly and other eastern cities over about 6 months. Fun way to travel, you always have your bed with you and you don't have to unpack your shit at every hotel and then repack it when you go. If I did it again, I'd use a fifth-wheel trailer instead of an class c. I had to rent cars when I wanted to get around.

Well, my other half did the drive from Southern California to Texas and then I joined them from Texas to Boca Raton, FL.

They drove for 24 hours straight to get to Dallas, TX. Then slept for a couple of hours and then it took us another 24 hours straight to get to Boca Raton, FL.

It is a long drive but I would like to do it again...perhaps in this RV that everyone is talking about:)

I'm seriously going to do this - my brother and kid rented an RV and drove around Alaska a couple of years ago and just loved it! I hate "camping" - I'm not a "wipe your ass with a leaf" kind of gal, but give me a real bed, air conditioning, a fuctioning tiolet and fridge, and I'm a "happy camper" :)

Plus I can take the dogs with me and not pay extra :awinky:

Been there done that 3 times!!!

Twice at over 100+ mph most of the time and very little sleep!

Once took it easy, amazing I even found my way back. Not only did I go East to West, but also did some North South while doing the East West.

Kicked ass!!!!!!!!!
