Serge, Nice avatar.

Did you walk outside yet? Wind chill is 43. I'm not used to this anymore. Mt brain hurts from the cold. I suspect frozen neurons. I used to walk to highschool in shorts when it was snowing. I've adjusted.

I think I'd be a "Later". Besides, I have Prairie-state phobia. Maps of those states "in the middle" have more white areas than dark. I hope to learn more about Oklahoma from watching "Friends" but I don't think I could ever leave the tropics. Can't leave my Florida football teams either. Despite what Ulfie says, football is not "just a game". ;-)

Colin, it snowed here last night. I'll send you some. ;)

As for football, canes are going down to Pitt on Thursday night. I'm so confident Pitt will win I'll bet you a dollar. :nyanya:

He's alive and well. I'm going down to FL to play golf with him in a few weeks. I turned him into a golfaholic. :D

Ulfie - Tickets in hand. I'll be in the Orange Bowl Thursday night.

Pitt has had an excellent year and played well against everyone. I can't say anything bad about them. ;-)

Loss? What's that? To Canes fans it brings to mind some vague memory of September 2000.

Miami is an unbelievable talent factory. I hear they could have 7 defensive lineman drafted this year. That's incredible depth. Pitt has a great defense so hopefully they can keep it close. Anything can happen in a close game. Have fun at the game, I'll be watching for you on tv. Let's amend the bet to the loser buys the winner a drink in Vegas. :bdance:

Ulfie - Then I win either way. Vegas in on -next time we're both there.

Miami talent. How about this one? Last year's UM team had 5 DBs drafted. Three in the first round, I think. All 4 started and the 5th. This year, UM leads the NCAA in pass defense.

True if Pitt can play a great defensive game and keep the score close. Who had the best offense of Pitt's past teams played? UM #1 in scoring offense in the country. I'll take UM 35. Pitt 16. Not a very bold prediction. The line is 20.

I always wondered why South Florida put so much amazing talent in the the NCAA and the pro's. Now that I've moved here I've seen something very interesting - organized football at every level. Games and practice all the time. Whenever I drive around Miami I see 7 and 8 years old playing organized ball. A freshman football player matures so much in ability in their 3 or 4 years in college.
Imagine how much all that extra time playing organized football helps - include year-round practices and games because of the warm weather environment.

Western Pennsylvania is the same way. Football programs are year round here and weather isn't a factor. If it's 20 below they still practice. The high school football championships will be played on Saturday at Heinz field. The games are televised and I usually watch because it's incredible football with some of the top recruits in the country playing. Some of the players I saw in HS here include Tony Dorsett, Dan Marino, Joe Montana, Ty Law, Lavar Errington, etc. I could go on and on because there have been so many great ones.

Still hoping for a Pitt upset. That would make my week. :bjump:

Ulfie - I keep waiting for and preparing for the loss and it doesn't come. UM continually defies the odds and the streak rolls on. Everyone wants to be the team to stop it. No one has.
