What's your most controversial sports call ever? (http://sports.espn.go.com/chat/sportsnation/story?page=ControversialPlays)

Mine is one that only merited an honorable mention on ESPN. It's the non-call on Michael Jordan in the NBA Finals when he foulded Bryon Russel by shoving him and then shooting the winning basket. It symbolozies everything I can't stand about the NBA and is wrong with pro sports. It also symbolizes a lot of Jordan's career to me as well. A great player made better by being able to get away with murder.

I liked 1999 Thanksgiving Day coin-flip flap (Steelers vs. Lions) as the funniest
Bettis called "Teads"

Also 4. Jeffrey Maier's home run - I think the kid that nabbed the ball is now in the Yankees farm system

The immaculate reception. Did the ball hit Tatum or Fuqua before Harris caught it and went in for the winning touchdown against the Raiders?

One of my other favorites was when Buffalo was playing a key game in heavy snow. They had the snow plow driver come on the field to clear the spot for the winning field goal. It led to the "no snow plow" rule the following year.

LOL Too funny Vick.

Ulfie, I remember the snow plow incident well!! Good memory and I'm surprised it isn't on there.

Being a sooner fan my entire life...

The "non-call" in the OU - Texas game in 1984 stands out for me. Texas was ranked #1, OU #2. On Texas' final drive score: OU-15, Texas-12, OU intercepted the ball in the endzone. The officials called him out of bounds. Replays clearly indicated that he had possession and caught the ball in bounds. Texas went on to kick a field goal as time expired. The game ended in a 15-15 tie. :grrr:

I was an impressionable 11 year old watching from the stands. OU/TX holds a special place in my heart every year.

If you are so inclined, feel free to read all about it here:

I'm pretty sure that the snow plow incident was New England.

To stay in the Big 8 + 4, the Mizzou/Colorado game in which Colorado got 5 downs, and scored a touchdown.

Needless to say, the Deckinger call came to my mind instantly.

I thought the Snow Plow incident was in New England also
The guy was on work release that plowed the spot clear, believe it was during a TV time out

The Immaculate Reception - I don't see it as controversial - I see it as a miracle that started the Steelers dynasty

If fact I remember where Ulfie was just minutes after the Steelers won ..... getting a pepsi shower
