Down here in So. Fla. there are going to have to ... in my area they are the ONLY major network still not broadcasting OTA in digital , let alone HD...

OTA = Over The Air .. in other words, you get the signal on a good old fashioned antennae ;-)

no cable or satellite required

Ah! Apparently in Atlanta, you have to get a special HDTV antenna. I have a "back up" antenna for when the satellite goes out, but it only picks up the big three - and from Chattanooga, TN :D

If I have an "HDTV ready" TV, does that mean that if I get the special DirecTV thing, I can see things in HDTV that are broadcasted in HDTV?

Signing off for the night - there's a tornado watch out. I'm not afraid of many things, but I AM afraid of tornados - after being in one in college, I have a high level of respect for them. Especially living with all these trees and a house with no attic for them to fall into, lol.

Night all!

Yes, you need either DirectTV or Dish network HDTV capable receiver, properly connected thru to your HDTV set, or an HDTV antennae over which you can receive any local channels broadcasting in HD

Best network TV site page I found was an application to be the bachelor for 'The Bachelor 2'

It started with some pretty ridiculous questions, i.e. have you been convicted of crimes, do you have a job (unemployed was an option!), and various other embarassing personal questions.

But it culminated in the last of the personality questions:

Do you really plan on getting married?

I see someone else has been playing in the land of techie gear. =] I got the Mitsubishi 65" widescreen a bit back and the HD stuff is stunning. Like looking through glass... took me awhile to figure out just how to GET an HD signal but once I got the right dish and receiver (yeah they need a dual-lnb dish), I was off to the races. =]

I heard something about all broadcast being HD by a certain year... is that true?

Hidden Hills is on Tuesday nights and is one of the best shows that came out this year. It is simply hysterical!

An explaination of the soccer mom link might be:

Kristin Bauer stars as Belinda Slypich, a single mom with a pornographic Web site who is both the talk of the town and the subject of Doug’s (Justin Louis) fantasies on “Hidden Hills.” “It’s great, I am already starting to answer to porn mom!” says Bauer, laughing.

Mark by the year 2006 the Fed. govt is supposed to be taking back all its standard over-the-air broadcast frequencies and this change would techincally require that all stations must be broadcasting their signals in the digital format (on the newly issued frequencies) ... BUT that does not mean all the content would be HD, it simply means that instead of seeing your shows in 480i analog, you would be getting 480p digital .. unless of course the show was created at a higher HD resolution like 720p or 1080i ... there's much more to it than that .. but thats the condensed version hehe

I've got the 65" mitsu set too WS65807
