Create a class of people that are completely dependent on them assuring they will never vote for anyone else.

yeah.. as a pornographer i really understand why fellow pornographers would prefer a party who is eager to become their big brother.

maybe this simple explanation would make it easier.
republlicans = lower taxes, pornographers are as bad as rapists and murderers, "dept of homeland defense", ashcroft yada yada

democrats = crazy loser liberals who believe that every crack whore should be free to drain off of all of us cause she's pregnant, no guns.. but net porn is really not a concern they have voiced.

so i guess the question is.. if a republican takes away your business and all of your money what is your income?

if a democrat raises your taxes but you get to stay in business, what is your income?

so while i can understand why MOST people would want the republican gun toting, jesus lovin christian coahlition... why would a bunch of pornographers even think that for one second that it's a GOOD thing to have conservatives in office????

Hooper - that's an amusing post but .......
I think conservatives in office are good for the business and for business climate in general out side of what I'm talking about here

Porn needs to be a little more tabooo and is too mainstream

Let's take it back a little towards the forbidden fruit (even though it won't go far, the toothpaste is out of the tube so to speak - and the internet had a lot to do with it)

Also we go back to the issue of one countries goverment trying to legislate a global enitity - hard to make that work

What would your worse fears be that the USA of a state goverment would do?

i'm with Hooper. What pornographer in his right mind cheers on the Republican party? I can understand choosing a Republican candidate weighing all the issues that are important to you and your personal philosophy. But to be a card carrying Republican toadie and a pornographer at the same time? Ridiculous. Go to a Repubican fund raising dinner and introduce yourself "Hey, good to meet ya Bob, my name's Dave and I'm the owner of Cock Craving Teenage Whores.com"

Democrats might want to invade your wallet and waste your money, Republicans want to invade your bedroom. No politician has a right inside your bedroom, not even to peep through the keyhole.

as always, be careful what you wish for, it just may come true.

you really think that a christian coahlition funded government is anything but incredibly frightening for porn companies???? does everybody here forget the meese era? i mean shit i was only 9 but i remember it... phone sex operators and video operators being thrown in jail.

jail is real bro.. jail is where you get fucked in the ass and get told when to piss.

the notion that a republican government is good for the adult internet strikes me as a mentality driven by a denial that what you do is considered to be morally reprehensible by the people who get to decide whether or not to prosecute you for offending their sensibilities.

in all reality our company is not a great target because we dont produce anything and keep our tours free of the no-nos..

but i am shocked even more when i see CONTENT PRODUCERS.. the ones who actually film the sexual conduct standing beind conservative values.

dont get me wrong bro.. i would LOVE lower taxes... i disagree with 99% of what the democratic party has to say.. but like my previous post said.. i would prefer to pay 35% of millions than 33.5% of NOTHING.

people who do non-adult.. i cant argue with.. but adult industry people voting for republicans baffles me.... but i'm not gonna convince anybody...

i'm just movin to the islands mon.

uh huh Mutt, do the same thing at a democrat rally and see how fast you get shown the door. NEITHER party is your friend in this business. I find it laughable that people think the democrats are supportive of porn. I am NOT a one issue voter. I've never once in my life voted straight party line. But that's only because I take the time to look at the candidates records, listen to what they say, and then vote based on what I believe is the best overall candidate.

Hello guys,

this is my first post here, but I thought it was a good subject to break the ice... I agree with Hooper too about the fact that being a pornographer and a republican is a contradiction in itself. You might say there is nothing they can do to the internet porn business because they cannot rule a global entity, but they showed us they can hit pretty hard when they got their way with Visa and made them register everyone under the big IPSP's. They might not control the internet, but believe me they can still have a lot of power over financial institutions worldwide and they can make it hard for us to make cash. Of course, if they keep on going like that, you'll still be able to peddle porn if you want to, but you'll have to give it away for free. I prefer to see a democrat at the presidence and feel secure about the fact that i'll still be able to charge my members tomorrow B)

Of course, that's only my opinion...

btw, who introduced copa, cda, cdaII, etc? Bill Clinton, that's who. Who shot them all down? A conservative supreme court. People have their eyes closed if they believe any politician is their friend.

Ulfie, it isn't about "who's a friend of porn"... it has to do with "who isn't trying to string porn people up by the balls (or other naughty bits)?".

Republicans have a specific anti-porn agenda. Democrats don't.

Vick, I agree with you, in the sense that porn is TOO available, but at the same time, I am not planning to go to jail to keep it "special". Taking it up the ass, literally, for the cause isn't in my plans.

Democrat and Republicans are in for a big surprise when someone finally gets the middle ground right and puts forth a third party that represents the views of the people, not the 5% whackos at each end of the scale.

Ulfie, read my lips.

It's the judges, stupid!!!

That's what makes this election so critical. You've got a born-again at justice, a born-again in the White House who put him there, and now, probably/possibly, a Senate that will rubber stamp his judical appointees because a good many of them are beholden to them as well. Most of their previous attempts have fallen apart in the courts. That may soon change, and that ain't good.

Are you sure it wasn't the Republican Congress who initiated and passed them? I kinda think that's how laws get passed. Clinton did sign them, I'm not disputing that - but I don't think he initiated them.

And you belive the democrats wouldn't have passed them? Clinton could have vetoed them but he didn't. Reno took them all the way to the supreme court when they were clearly unconstitutional and LOST. The system does work.

As to your point about judges, I agree, that's the best part, no more anti-business judges being appointed that award $600k to dipshits that spill coffee on themselves.

christ.. this is such a ridiculous argument... at least it's nice to see a few people who have the smarts to identify that right wing conservatives are MORE dangerous to our industry than any other political group in the usa.

I don't think that's a bad thing at all. Of course, that wasn't at all my point, you know it, and if I were in your situation I'd want to change the subject too. Let's just hope it remains an academic discussion and that I am very wrong.

argh!!!!!!! this is my biggest pet peeve...people who comment on THAT particular case and have never even read anything about these case...

so you think McDonald's should have continued to be allowed to serve their coffee WELL past the normal tempratures? they have over 700 complaints about it and did NOTHING. This woman had third degree burns on her legs....pour some coffee from your percolator on your leg and you'll see NORMAL temp coffee won't produce those same burns....McDonald's got nailed because of THAT, not because the lady was admittedly stupid enough to have coffee in a car....that was not an anti-business judgement, it was an lack of safety measures judgement....no different than if I mop a floor in my restaurant and fail to notify the patrons I've done so...it's negligence...

sorry, but with so many truly bullshit court rulings, the fact that one is the one always tossed around burns my ass like a 3 foot flame......

also, I'm going to laugh my ass off at the any republican webmaster who get hauled away by "one of their own"...I'd rather give 1/3 of my check to some crackwhore in the ghetto to raise her 4 kids by herself then have some self-appointed soul saver standng in my bedroom monitoring my sexual positions for "anti-American" sentiments....

everyone had better learn the lyrics to "Jesus Loves me" :)

Don't get me wrong, I actually voted for one Republican today: Gov. Kenny Guinn who has be fantastic as Governor....I have some issues with the dems too, but far fewer than with the Republicans....

a scary sign of the grip the Mormon chrruch has on Nevada: the Marijuanna legalization initiative got shotgunned by almost the same exact percentage (and votes) as the anti-gay rights initiative....

c'mon...everyone sing Jesus loves me, how do I know? Because John Ashcroft tells me so..."

First the pemise to say all Republicans want to ban porn is FALSE.
Second it is NOT a priority when we have terrorist issue and economy.
Third, porn - regular intercouse porn is no longer taboo in any county.
Fourth - too much money in main stream companies with porn.

BUT even if the republicans would try to shut us down, for ME - the security of the UNITED STATES is more important short term, then my right to sling porn, or me losing my business....

Well, true, any blanket statement is false...like this belief that all democrats are brainwashed minion and all republicans freethinkers....I think both parties have their brainwashed minions who will never change their minds....and both parties have their freethinkers...

Not all republicans want to ban porn, but the ones who do are in very high offices....call it atheist paranoia, but anyone who is that devout that his God has a bigger penis than anyone else's scares me....I grew up in a very mormon town and actually currently live in a town that is heavily mormon....look at the Nevada ballot initiatives.....the Mormon powers that be got their wishes....shot down the porposed legalization of marijuana and actually were able to push through what the "legal definition of marriage" is....basically a way of depriving gay couples rights that married couples might have (death benefits, hospital visitation, etc.).

But, like Ulfie, I don't vote straight partyline either, but my voting does tend to drift towards the more liberal just because of my atheist paranoia...

Mike, do you really believe the priority will TRULY be national security, or do you think it will ultimately become an excuse to pass whatever restrictive measures they wish in the name of protecting the country? I'm not trying to start a piss, just curious of your views on that particular matter (that I don't mind stating, just bothers the hell out of me)? Maybe I'm paranoid due to watching my neighbors in Wyoming get their farms taken away from them and their property stolen by the Government through eminent domain to build a road no one ever ended up using anyways, so have this built in government paranoia....while I don't think the Government as a whole is "out to get me" I worry about the PEOPLE that make up that entity and the dwindling checks and balances...all in the name of feeling a little safer....

the Democrats are a shambles unfortunately. They are in big trouble, they have let the party become a joke and are really out of step with most Americans.

I am more liberal than conservative but I agree with most of Bush's plans, i just don't like religion mixed up in politics especially Fundamentalist religion - we have thousands of troops in Aghanistan cleaning up after a Fundamentalist religious 'government'.

I'd like a third party - conservative on the economy and defense, liberal in its social agenda.

oops, should clarify, it's not your opinion that scares me...just the potential of passing other measures in the name of national security that are nothing more than thinly veiled attempts to pass more restrictive measures that wouldn't have gotten through otherwise and might circumvent checks and balances (because would would want to be "against national security?") ;)

i think that only incredibly shortisighted people would really think that "whats good for porn is good for our country"

of course you should be concerned about your business. what about running the country, global politics? Economics? global economics. what about War? Terrorism, Iraq, Middle East, Relations with Russia, China and others?

i know that they may be all be secondary issues to jerking off for most people but when people are waving nuclear weapons at us i would also prefer to give some consideration to the big picture.

Mutt - the number of people voting Republican or Democrat is roughly equal over time. How can this balance maintain so evenly? I think that when one party starts to get ahead the other adjusts it's platform accordingly in order to get back in the race.

I don't see the Democratic party in any long-term trouble.
