I found this interesting http://unclaimed.org/
You can do a search for unclaimed funds in each state that may be owed to you. I did a few searches using names of dead close relatives and got some good results. Guess dead people do have uses after all.

Thanks Cleo,

I did a search about a year ago, but not so lucky.
Maybe I'll try again.

I only did a search on my last name and one of my grand parents and got back two results. One of them is a life insurance policy and the other one is from the electric company. I have no idea how much they are for, but I am the only living relative so I guess I can make claim for the funds so I sent for the paperwork.

I'm thinking that I should get my family history and see what other dead relatives I have.

Haha if I do the search I'd probably find out one of my relatives died with tons of debt and left it all to me hehehe .. but thats just my luck.

Cleo - are you in Ft. Laud. or Pompano? I know you're close right? I'm out in the boonies - in Coral Springs.

I thought you lived on the west coast for some reason. I'm just off of Bayview drive between Sunrise and Oakland Park Blvd.

Coral Springs was nothing but swamp land when I moved to Florida, lol.

I'm at Atlantic and the Sawgrass as far west as you can get. I was just down in your area yesterday ... probably drive right by lol.

We have to do lunch or something some time. I don't seem to ever get out west, sometimes it seems like that's another country or something, lol.

Absolutely, I'm always looking for new lunch/dinner buddies ... just ask Serge lol.

You know its actually not that bad out west here. I was SO sick of the traffic and congestion of the beach area that when I built my house I decided to get as far away from that as possible. Out here at night you can sit out by the lake and not hear any cars, people, noise, etc. Just the crickets ... and sometimes a gator or two hehe

You're not too far from me Cleo, I'm between Atlantic and Commercial east of 1.

We're finally getting our new studio at Pembroke and Dixie. The commute sucks, but it's nice to have real space to work from.

But can you see your nextdoor neighbors? If you can see a house when you look out ANY of your doors and windows, you're not as away as possible :P

Someone asked me the other day why I bought my house (I get asked that a lot B) ) and I said it's because I have 100 acres of privacy on 2 acres of land :inlove:

Peaches - yes but in Feb. when you have snow on the ground and have to bring in firewood, it will be about 70 deg. at night here - perfect hottub weather ;-)))

We RARELY get snow - last year it was zero! In a BIG snow year, we might get 2 times where there's more than 2 inches. I'm actually HOPING for some serious snow this year.....but if it gets really bad, I'm making Wig come get me in his truck or his 4 wheeler :agrin:

Plus, I'm smart - I have gas logs :P

If you've never been in an outside hot tub when it's freezing cold outside, you're missing out! When I had my hot tub years ago, winter was the only time we used it. Another one is on my "list of things to get" - after the whole house generator, hehehe. NOTE: do NOT have a marble entry way on the way IN from the hot tub when it's cold outside - your feet will freeze to it - learned that the hard way

So I can get this back on topic, my family's always sure not to leave anyone anything unless there are tons of legal implications attached to it - no "unclaimed money" here :(

Traffic doesn't really bother me since I don't usually drive more then a few miles from my home and I love being by the beach too much to live out west. In fact I'm riding my bicycle down to the beach right now.

I'm just about always up for lunch or something, 954-561-4809, or cleo@cleos-porn-links.com if anybody is in the mood sometime.

Wow... go there and enter Bill Smith as a search.

Someone should make a business out of contacting these people and for a % and filling out the forms for them or something since they obviously don't know about this resource. Knowledge is power baby!

 Yes Voodooman I have a computer implanted in my head with satellite net access. It's not so bad, but getting plugged in for a recharge is kind of a bitch. :D
