Looks funny and I like Johnny Knoxville and Steve O. Just wondering how far we are going to go as a society though. These guys are insane. Eventually somebody is going to die, probably many people will die, as we move along in this genre of entertainment.

But ya know, Evil Knievel was big when when i was a kid and there have always been circus daredevils and the guys who walk over Niagara Falls, deaths occurred and nobody really go upset.

I just think these Jackass guys are really influential with kids and the stunts they do are way too easy to replicate at home. Stapling your nuts to your leg, can't believe Steve O did that on Stern.

I was thinking the same thing when I was watching the making of the movie. When the golf cart flipped over and almost landed right on top of Knockville, definitely could have killed him. I will say that they make me laugh my ass off though.

The sadder part is there are idiots out there that find it "entertaining".....

I guess I'm one of them. :o

I think its funny to watch but I'm not stupid enough to go and try the stunts myself. I'll leave tha to the real morons.

As Entertaining as it might be, their still exactly what their title says,
Jackasses.
If one of them gets killed, hey, they know what could happen.
The thing I think they dont realize is, all the abuse to their
bodies now, and when they get older, they will be eating codein
like candy just to walk.
But, I think they will get what they deserve.
The worst part of this whole thing is, kids are going out
and doing this stuff, and someone WILL get seriously injured,
or possible killed.
But, thats america!!!

well ulfie you could make the comparison between this new breed of entertainer and NFL players. Both sacrifice their bodies to entertain people.

NFL players suffer permanent damage all the time. Mike Webster had significant brain damage that played a part in his downfall and ultimate death at a premature age.

WWF guys are starting to die as well. Many of these WWF ...er.. WWE guys are cripples just like many NFL players at 45.

Then we have deaths every year in car racing.

So if a few guys who do these Jackass stunts die every year it won't be anything new. You will hear an outcry when some kids die emulating a stunt they saw on Jackass.

I think the Jackass Crew should contact the NFL
and ask to play with the pros,,,,,,, Without helmets
or pads.

Now that would be entertaining.

Jackass is, in the end, no different from rubberneckers at a car crash. We all want to see "what happened".

NASCAR is the most popular form of racing in America. I suspect that more than half of the people are watching to see the crashes, not the racing.

The only issue with Jackass is the kids immitating this whole deal. I sort of look at it as a weird form of darwinism at work. If they are stupid enough to do it, they are stupid enough to die from it. I don't wish it on anyone, but, jeez.

There are lessons about our own marketting that should be considered faced with the solid numbers being put on the board by Jackass. This is the male 18-25 demographic being served up on a platter, folks... look at it and learn.

You could make that comparison but it's not valid. Having someone hit you in the head with a baseball isn't quite the same thing as doing it on purpose. Pretty pathetic if the only way you can make a buck is being the world's punching bag if you ask me.

On the Stern show they had Steve-O and Johnny Knoxville on, and Howard was taking about a new movie diea of his called "Jerk-Off: the movie" which would be stern fans doing jackass-type stunts. A couple people called in and said they would be willing to be stabbed or even killed (!) as the finale of the movie

Then there is this article:

"Jackass" goers turn into Jackasses ('http://www.thewmurchannel.com/news/1748737/detail.html')

On second thought, cleaning up the gene pool isn't such a bad idea.

That's what I'm saying...and if it makes me laugh watching them do it then that's even better.

I can see it now...

Heh. The world is not at war right now. We have plenty of 18-25 year old males to spare.

I watched all these stunts during fraternity pledge weeks in high school and college (yes, 2 HS's I went to, in two different states had "party" fraternies and sororities, lol!). IMHO, the group of people that find it entertaining are: 1) the folks that aren't old enough to be in college yet 2) the ones that didn't go to college and/or never got to watch the absurdity of pledge week or 3) the ones that watched pledge week pranks, and really enjoyed them :P

But as Ulfie suggested, it's Darwinism at it's best - let the games go on! :D
